Yesterday Xiaomi launches Mi Reader in China to compete with the most popular E-book reader ‘Amazon Kindle’. This reader comes with 6-inch HD E-Ink display with a pixel density of 212ppi, a built-in LED reading light with 24 brightness settings and it weighs only 178 grams, that’s too lightweight. It will run on a custom skin based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
The device will be powered by quad-core Allwinner B300 processor running at 1.8GHz and a 1,800mAh battery that comes with USB Type-C port. The Mi Reader is packed with 16GB internal storage and a 1GB of RAM. This reader supports multiple file formats such as TXT, EPUD, PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT and the whole suite of compatible WPS and MS Office content.
5,000 e-books can be stored in this Mi Reader. Users can download e-books/documents from the cloud itself to read that instantly anywhere anytime. It comes with a price tag of CNY 579 (approx $83 or Rs 5,900) that will be offered on the crowdfunding platform that will start from 20th November, after that price will be hiked to CNY 599 (approx $85 or Rs. 6,100).
There is no word that when it will be available in the Global market and what will be its price in the global market. We will update that if we get any further information on this.
