Amazon today introduced a new free tier for its users, so from now on users don’t need to subscribe to Amazon Prime or buy any Amazon Music paid plans to listen to the music. The free version will be Ad-supported and this service can be enjoyed on iOS, Android and Fire TV. Users can also enjoy the free tier on their desktops by heading over to the Amazon Music website.
This new feature has been introduced to compete with the rival ‘Spotify‘, they are also offering a free tier to the users for a long time and they have already added 140 million users for its free version. The users don’t need to enter any card (debit/credit) details to enjoy the free tier of Amazon Music, users only need an account on Amazon…just it, you are good to go.
In a blog post, Amazon said
“Beginning today, Amazon Music customers who do not yet have a Prime membership, or a subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited, can now listen to an ad-supported selection of top playlists and thousands of stations for free on their favorite devices. Previously only available to customers on Echo devices, today’s news expands access to customers using the Amazon Music app on iOS, Android, and FireTV. Customers can also listen to this music on the Web… Now, customers in the US, UK, and Germany will be able to enjoy more music with no subscription or credit card required.”
