So now it is high time to upgrade to an Android/iOS device from a Windows device. Facebook-owned WhatsApp will also stop supporting devices running Android 2.3.7 and older or iOS 8 and older from 1st February 2020.

Also, there is no option to transfer your chat history between platforms, you can export the chat history as an email attachment. WhatsApp was removed from Microsoft store on 1st July 2019 and Microsoft also officially ended support for Windows Phone on 10th December 2019.

WhatsApp will provide support for and recommend using the following devices:

  • Android running OS 4.0.3+
  • iPhone running iOS 9+
  • Select phones running KaiOS 2.5.1+, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2

” You’ll no longer be able to use all Windows Phone operating systems after December 31, 2019. Because we no longer actively develop for these operating systems, some features might stop functioning at any time. “

Users will be able to continue using WhatsApp on:

  • Android versions 2.3.7 and older until February 1, 2020
  • iOS 8 and older until February 1, 2020

So Windows Phone users have to forcefully upgrade to any other platform (Android/iOS) to continue using WhatsApp to stay connected with their friends and families.

Call Waiting Feature Arrives on the Latest Version of WhatsApp https://sjdfreak.in/call-waiting-feature-arrives-on-the-latest-version-of-whatsapp/ https://sjdfreak.in/call-waiting-feature-arrives-on-the-latest-version-of-whatsapp/#respond Sun, 08 Dec 2019 05:30:30 +0000 http://sh033.global.temp.domains/~dopedeal/sjdfreak/?p=4230 Till now the WhatsApp messenger lacks some important feature like call waiting and call holding. But now in the latest update, WhatsApp introduced the most awaited feature “Call Waiting” for Android devices. This new update can be seen in the stable v2.19.352 of WhatsApp Android app, as well as v2.19.357 and v2.19.358 of the beta app, also it can be seen on WhatsApp for Business v2.19.128.

Late November WhatsApp introduced the call waiting feature in the iOS v2.19.120. Previously if a user is calling someone on WhatsApp then if some other users call that person then that will get disconnected automatically. But after this update, WhatsApp will show ‘End & Accept’ button while the user already in a call so that the user can choose whether to attend the incoming call or just continue talking with the current person.

WHAT'S NEW
- New privacy settings allow you to control who can add you to groups. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Groups to get started.
- Added call waiting support so you can choose to accept an incoming WhatsApp call while you're already on another call.
- You can now require a fingerprint to unlock WhatsApp. Tap Settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint lock and enable Unlock with fingerprint.
- Fixed an issue which caused fast battery drain on some devices.

WhatsApp added Fingerprint Lock Support on Android Devices https://sjdfreak.in/whatsapp-added-fingerprint-lock-support-on-android-devices/ https://sjdfreak.in/whatsapp-added-fingerprint-lock-support-on-android-devices/#respond Sun, 03 Nov 2019 11:30:55 +0000 http://sh033.global.temp.domains/~dopedeal/sjdfreak/?p=3663 Finally, we don’t have to rely on any third-party apps to use fingerprint lock feature, which really doesn’t work well and those apps can reveal your WhatsApp chats to anyone. So Facebook-owned WhatsApp was working to bring the Fingerprint Lock security feature and they were testing it on the WhatsApp Beta version. Now it’s available for everyone and to use it update to the latest version from Google Playstore.

Initially, the feature of locking the app with Touch ID or Face ID came to iOS devices. Though it’s not confirmed that the face unlock feature will be integrated with WhatsApp or not. The steps to enable the feature is given in detail below:

  1. Tap on the ‘three-dot menu’ on the top right corner
  2. Next click on ‘Settings’
  3. Tap on ‘Account’ and then tap on ‘Privacy’
  4. Scroll down and select ‘Fingerprint Lock’
  5. Toggle on ‘Unlock with Fingerprint’
  6. Set your fingerprint and you are done.

They have claimed that the feature is coming soon in this post, but now they are saying that the feature is already in the works.

A user can use his/her account on multiple devices simultaneously, whether it is Android/iOS/iPadOS/Windows device. Chats will be still end-to-end encrypted because WhatsApp was developing a new method to assign keys to specific devices.

WhatsApp always delayed in rolling out basic features so users have to wait for this feature also. No specific rollout date is found right now, but if we get any further report on this then we will surely let you know.
