Here’s how it works: once you connect your headphones and open the app, you’ll customize frequencies to reinforce important sound, just like the voices of the people you’re with, and filter ground noise. It can assist you to hear conversations in noisy restaurants more clearly, amplify the sound coming from the TV at personalized frequency levels without bothering others, or boost the voices of presenters at a lecture.
For some people, it’s going to be hard to understand when this app is detecting or enhancing sound. So we added an audio visualization feature that shows when sound is detected, helping you visualize the changes you’re making thereto. sort of a volume number on your TV, you recognize what proportion the sound is boosted albeit you can’t hear it yet.

Download and switch on Sound Amplifier
Note: If you’ve got a Pixel 4, 3a, or 3, skip to the Pixel section below.
1. Download the app from the Google Play store.
2. Connect wired headphones to your Android device.
3. Go to the Apps section.
4. Tap the app Sound Amplifier.
Pixel: activate Sound Amplifier
Sound Amplifier is already installed on Pixel 4, 3a, and three phones. to urge started, follow these steps:

2.Tap Accessibility, then tap Sound Amplifier.
3.Tap Open Sound Amplifier.

7.To start Sound Amplifier, use your Sound Amplifier shortcut (2-finger swipe up, or tap the Accessibility button Accessibility).

You can change the loudness and tuning levels to regulate your current environment.
- While Sound Amplifier is running, swipe down from the highest of your screen, then tap the Sound Amplifier notification.
- Explore these options:
- Pause amplification: Tap Pause Pause.
- Change the sound settings: On the Sound tab, try changing the Boost and Fine-tuning controls to seek out the setup that works best for you.
- Adjust ears separately: On the Sound tab, activate Adjust ears separately to use settings to the proper and left audio independently. For Bluetooth headphones, this setting only applies to on-device audio, to not sound from your surroundings.
- Reduce unwanted sounds: On the Noise tab, change the noise reduction level.
Troubleshoot issues with Bluetooth headphones
With Bluetooth headphones, the sound could be delayed or lower quality. to enhance the sound quality and reduce the delay, try these steps:
1. In Sound Amplifier, attend the Source tab. within the Microphone menu, select Device mic.
2. Bring your headphones closer to your phone and avoid placing objects between the headphones and your phone.
Some brands of Bluetooth headphones may need lower quality audio and latency. If the steps above don’t improve your sound quality, try switching to wired headphones.
More options
- Use Sound Amplifier as a foreign microphone. Place your phone near a TV or speaker, then use your Bluetooth headphones. You’ll hear the audio in your headphones while the sound remains at a cushy volume for others.

Permissions Notice
• Phone: The phone status will allow the Sound Amplifier to pause when there is an incoming or outgoing call.
• Microphone: Access to the microphone will enable Sound Amplifier to process the audio for amplification and filtering. No data is collected or stored.
